2 volumes, 8vo, pp. xix, 419, 6 engraved plates; viii, 434. Contemporary red morocco, green morocco labels on spines. First gathering of vol. 1 bound in the wrong order, some light foxing at the beginning of each volume, a few small scuff marks in the leather, but a very good set.

Second edition in English of Elémens de chymie-theorique (1749) and Elémens de chymie-pratique (1751), translated by Andrew Reid fom the 1756 editions. The introductory text (Théorique) was arranged to present the basic truths of chemistry in a logical order, from the simple to the complex. The Elémens de chymie-pratique formed a complete course of practical chemistry for beginners. Cole 887. Neville II, p. 121. Partington III, p. 80. This edition is a page-for-page reprint of the first of 1758 with the errors corrected.
