Third London edition (the seventh overall, according to Lindeboom) of these commentaries by an anonymous author on Boerhaave’s Aphorismi de cognoscendis & curandis morbis, first published in 1709, a text which enjoyed enormous success. The most famous commentaries on Boerhaave’s aphorisms are those of Gerard van Swieten, which appeared in 1741–1772. Lindeboom, Bibliographia Boerhaaviana, 204 (describing this edition as being in 4 volumes, 8vo).
