8vo, pp. (xvi), 444, (4). Woodcut ornaments. Contemporary speckled calf, spine ruled in gilt and with red morocco label, double gilt fillet on sides. Short cracks at ends of joints, one corner bumped, but a nice copy. Small personal library stamp on verso of title and on one or two other pages.
Third edition in English. Boerhaave’s Aphorisms is a collection of short pronouncements concerning the diagnosis and therapy of various diseases. It was hugely popular, with many editions, translations, plagiarisms and commentaries. Lindeboom 195.
